NO ONE CAN REVEAL TO YOU NOTHING BUT THAT WHICH ALREADY LIES HALF-SLEEP IN THE DAWNING OF YOUR KNOWLEGE
— KAHLIL GIBRANE

Our MISSION is to support the AWARENESS of and movement towards a PLANT-based, ORGANIC, LOCAL foods diet.

AWARENESS is “the state and ability to perceive, to feel or to be conscious.”  At times, it feels like a light coming in, and if it’s not continuously reinforced, after sometime it may fade.  Bringing this ability into our EVERYDAY life, in each INTERACTION, each CONVERSATION, each DECISION, each MOMENT, builds our awareness ‘muscle.’  When we bring awareness to the CHOICES we make in our LIFE, we become more consciously CONNECTED and RESPONSIBLE for OURSELVES, for our FAMILY, our COMMUNITY and our PLANET as a whole.  It’s probably the single most IMPORTANT component to creating a SHIFT in the way we LIVE.

ORGANIC FOOD

mo-9.jpg

"Organic" implies farming practices that restrict chemicals, synthetics and genetic engineering (i.e., the use of fertilizers, pesticides and GMOs).

LOCAL FOOD

By eating locally, we create a greater connection between ourselves and our food sources, resist industrialized and processed foods, and support our local economy.

SUSTAINABLE FOOD

Sustainably sourced foods come from crops that are chosen because they are naturally well-suited for the local environment and not negatively impacting the land.

Below is a list of documentaries to watch (if you haven’t already), and to return to every once in a while, to remind ourselves to BE and LIVE with AWARENESS – to recognize everything that has an EFFECT on our LIFE, and know that with this ABILITY we can make choices to CREATE and AFFECT what we want in life.

When we walk into a supermarket, we assume that we have the widest possible choice of healthy foods. But in fact, over the course of the 20th century, our food system was co-opted by corporate forces whose interests do not lie in providing the public with fresh, healthy, sustainably-produced food. Fortunately for America, an alternative emerged from the counter-culture of California in the late 1960s and early 1970s, where a group of political anti-corporate protesters–led by Alice Waters–voiced their dissent by creating a food chain outside of the conventional system.
